I always love shooting this couple. Not only are they great friends and SO much fun to be with, but they KNOW how to pose, which is really fun for me! So when Will and Melissa asked me to do a Trash the Dress session with them three months after their wedding I was so excited! Their wedding took place in their home state of Kansas, but they live in California now so they thought it would be nice to have some photos there too. So what is more quintessential California than the beach?! We headed down to a spot off the beaten path in Laguna Beach. This spot is actually kind of special to the couple, and Will himself has taken some pretty awesome photos here.
For the attire, Melissa wanted something fun and different from the wedding day. For this first look, Will was able to borrow an awesome blazer, fitted chinos and a bow-tie….only problem, he had no clue how to tie the bow-tie. So as we drove down Pacific Coast Highway, I found a YouTube video on my phone “How to Tie a Bow-Tie”. Thankfully our British friend in the video enabled David to figure out how to do it. I must say Will you looked quite jaunty and dapper in that bow-tie. 😉 Enjoy this first set of pics, and check back later in the week for Part 2. Love you guys!!!

Colby you’ve outdone yourself!!!!! These are absolutely gorgeous – I like them even better than their wedding and those wonderful too. Trash the Dress what a great idea to get another opportunity to wear the dress and get some different and more relaxed pictures.
