Topher and Becky {Engagement}

Today’s engagement photos were taken at the picturesque Red Rocks Amphitheater. Red Rocks is probably my favorite place to attend a concert…you are outside up above Denver and surrounded by beautiful RED rock formations…its pretty hard to beat. Both Becky and Topher have a mutual love for music, so we thought this would be the perfect location to take their engagement photos.

Topher and Becky met through mutual friends at a local Denver bar, “Moes”. They hit it off right away because of their mutual love for music and the band Phish in particular (they each have seen them numerous times). She told me a few tid bits about their relationship, “Before living in the house we live in now, we lived together in a 500sq ft apt where the heat was always on, and in the Summer it would be 110 degrees in there. I think this tiny little apartment made me realize I really did love him. Once we got off work, we would bring back something to cook for dinner and we would just sit out on the back porch for hours until the sun went down and the apartment was less than 90 degrees. Some of my best memories were from the back porch…grilling some food, drinking a beer and admiring our ‘porch garden’.”

Today the couple currently lives in a bigger house together along with their pup…but they still enjoy cooking, gardening, spending time together and of course, going to shows.

Topher has saved ALL his cassette tapes, so we thought it would be fun to incorporate some of them and an old school Boom Box into the shoot!




Becky is from St. Louis, MO, Topher is from Shelby, NC and they met in Denver.




The natural surroundings of this amphitheater simply can’t be beat!



After we shot INSIDE the amphitheater we took some shots outside and around it….because as you see below it was too gorgeous not to.
