“How little we knew of love, my love. How much more we know of love now. I hope that we look back on this day 50 years from now, and say “How little we knew of love.””
Well it only took me five months to blog this…but I couldn’t NOT blog it. This past December David and I took an anniversary trip to New York City to celebrate ten years of marriage. WOW. TEN YEARS?!? That still sounds crazy to me five months later. Looking back we were just babies when we got married and yet it was the smartest, best decision I ever made to marry that man. We decided to celebrate this big milestone with a Vow Renewal on the Brooklyn Bridge. We were so thankful to have Kat Harris there to capture it for us. Before we said our vows on the bridge, we had fun meandering around the DUMBO area of Brooklyn to get some anniversary shots that I am in LOVE with! Kat outdid herself and we could not have been more thankful to have her there to share such a special day with us. We will treasure these always.
Looking back on ten years of marriage, and 14 years together, in some ways these vows are more special to me then the ones we took on our wedding day. They are deeper, we have seen loss and birth of new lives (our two sons!), financial hardships, traveled the world, started our photography business…we have chosen love even on days we didn’t want to. David’s words to me both made me laugh and cry. I am so thankful we were able to renew our vows and have this special day to share between just the two of us. I can’t wait to share more photos from our time in New York and all the fun things we did while we were there. Stay tuned for the next post but in the meantime enjoy our beautiful anniversary session/vow renewal by the fabulous Kat Harris Photography.
