It was such an honor to be apart of this wedding as both a photographer and bridesmaid. Steph has been a close friend of David and mine since college and we could not be happier that she has found Dennis! As soon as we met him we knew there couldn’t be someone more perfectly suited for our friend. When you are with these two, their mutual love and adoration for one another is so evident. Not only that, they have such fun with one another! They truly are best friends. Their wedding took place at the beginning of October on a chilly fall day at the Lyons Farmette. Dennis and Steph wanted a venue that was rustic, laid back, eclectic and most importantly fun! The Farmette–with roosters, goats and emus running around–was the perfect choice. The couple encouraged their guests to dress comfortably and don their boots, even the bridal party (bride included) wore cowboy boots.
Steph thought of every.single.detail. From the bridesmaids robes and matching shorts which she MADE, matching Kate Spade earrings, unique ties hand selected for each groomsmen, vests made by a friend and all the ceremony and reception decor. She even let the bridesmaids each pick our own dress, which ensures we will wear it again! 🙂 As we were getting ready on the big day, Dennis had a beautiful surprise waiting for Steph. As she entered the airstream to start getting ready she found a record which he had made for her complete with all their special songs. If you know this couple, you know their love for music and concerts runs deep. Not only did Dennis create the most perfect wedding day gift, but he also was quite involved with the wedding planning. Dennis is very into brewing his own beer and beer in general is a big part of this couple’s life. So they knew they wanted to incorporate that into their celebration. Dennis MADE a keezer for the reception that said “Love’s a Brewin'” and had five of his own brews on tap for guests to enjoy. Not only that, but he also bottled it for guests to take as a favor at the end of the night with unique names in keeping with their wedding day. As a surprise to Dennis, Steph even had hops put in the floral arrangements and boutonnieres.
After a close call with some rain storms, they luckily were still able to have the ceremony outside under a large tree branch complete with hanging miniature glass vases, lights and window panes. All Steph’s creation. After the couple said “I Do”, guests were encouraged to play lawn games, grab a brew and take funny photos with props in the Selfie Booth. Following the cocktail hour, a hearty family style Italian meal was served. For dessert, not only was there wedding cake, but also S’mores and Little Man Ice Cream! The S’more bar was set up by a fire pit complete with marshmallows and graham crackers HOMEMADE by the bride’s mom Paula. The rest of the night Dennis and Steph’s friends and family danced like crazy to ’90’s jams. A light up LOVE sign (again MADE by Steph’s dad Mike and Dennis) illuminated the dance floor. What a fun night!! Dennis and Steph we felt so lucky to be apart of it and wish you all the fun and adventure this life has to offer!!
