Patrick and Laura {Engagement}

FILED IN: Engagements

Well, I am back from my blogging hiatus. I do love my blog very much, but there has been a lot of good things going on at CEPhoto since 2011 started and my poor blog has been neglected. Anyway, I am back today and have a good one to share with you…the Denver engagement of Patrick and Laura. This couple was referred to us by another one of our amazing couples, Chris and Leanne. Oh how we love shooting friends of friends!

Patrick and Laura chose to do their shoot in Downtown Denver because they are both Colorado natives and have lived near Denver their whole lives. The city in particular holds a special place in their hearts because their first apartment was just south of the city and they just bought their first home east of Downtown Denver. They love city life and all it has to offer. So Laura and I collaborated to find some fun and unique spots to Denver to capture their engagement.

After our shoot and getting to know this couple a little better, I asked Laura about her and Patrick’s love story, she put it so poignantly I will let you hear it in her words. “Our love story…where do I begin? We met when I was in high school, I was just 16, and he was just getting ready to graduate, we did not know each other while we were in school but he was friends with my older brother. Once they all graduated I started hanging out with them that summer and that is when Pat and I first met. Once we decided we liked each other he asked my brother’s permission before we actually started dating. We dated that summer then Pat went to CU for his freshman year and I stayed in Lakewood in high school. The next summer he came back we started dating again and have been together ever since. We made it all through college, even with me living in Colorado Springs while he was still in Boulder my freshman year. We would commute back and forth to see each other practically every weekend. After we both finished college we moved in together, then progressed to buying our first home together. Right before we went on our big trip to San Francisco where he proposed, he asked not only my dad’s permission, but also my older brother’s permission once again. We have been together for 8 years now…wow time can really fly by.” After hearing about Patrick and Laura’s history I thought it was very fitting to this couple. Anyone who spends time with them can tell they are so comfortable together and just fit, like you can’t imagine one without the other. Just one of those meant to be together kind of things. Sorry if that’s corny, but that’s the truth.

Pat and Laura, we had so much fun getting to know you guys while parading around Denver! It’s really hard to call this “work” when we’re having such a good time. We can’t wait for your wedding this June at Hudson Gardens! David and I hope we did justice in telling your story through these photos….ENJOY!

The famous Clocktower

I had never seen these cool blocks before, shooting here was Laura’s idea.

I LOVE this city!

One of David’s…such a cool shot don’t you think?

After shooting near the Clocktower, we headed over to Civic Center Park and the Capital Building.

Mine and David’s take on the same moment.
LOVE this one.

Kind of obsessed with the bottom one on this pairing.
