I’ve got some more East Coast photos to share with you today! After our time in Boston we headed to Scituate, the little coastal town where my mom grew up. As a little girl I spent many Summers in Scituate visiting my Grandma and hearing stories about all the fun things my mom did growing up there. So as you can imagine this town holds a very special place in my heart. The Harbor is just gorgeous, quintessential New England. Fishing boats sit anchored in the harbor as seagulls soar overhead and you can just make out the lighthouse in the distance. I was snapping pics like crazy, I can’t wait to pick some favorites to frame for our house. Along the harbor is Scituate’s little Downtown…”Front Street”. It has a handful of shops and restaurants and is easily walkable and perfectly charming. The Quarterdeck is, and always has been, my mom’s and my favorite. It is a tradition for us to buy something every time we visit. Maria’s Subs and T.K. O’Malley’s, an Irish Pub, also have some great grub….let’s just say they saw us often!
The next day we headed to Nantucket. Unfortunately our good weather had to come to an end. Once our ferry arrived, we were met with rain. 🙁 Somehow we weren’t aware that our hotel had a shuttle service and instead google mapped walking directions there. I, along with David, my mom, Parker, and ALL our luggage and camera gear trekked through the rain on the cobble stone streets of Nantucket all the way to our hotel. Or so we thought. It turns out the address we had was wrong and after huffing and puffing through the rain we were absolutely in the wrong spot! At this point we called a cab, which found us in the middle of nowhere, and brought us straight to our hotel. So after a rocky start things went uphill from there! Nantucket is one of my favorite places on Earth and David had never been so it was really nice to share that with him and Parker. We had three days on the island to explore and relax. We spent time out in Sconset wandering the grassy beaches and going to the local market for lunch. We also had time meandering around town, looking in the shops and venturing down to the Brant Point Lighthouse. Our last night on the island we took a shuttle out to Millie’s restaurant which definitely was a highlight.
That’s all the pics for now, but I will share the last leg of our trip on Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and back to Scituate/Cohasset/Hingham area very soon! If you missed the pics from the first part of our trip in Rhode Island and Boston you can see them here.
