Well before spring is in full affect, I need to share this snowy winter wedding with you! I had the pleasure of photographing Alex and Michael’s beautiful intimate wedding in Breckenridge. This couple is from Louisiana and decided on a destination wedding to the Colorado Mountains with just their families and a few close friends. Boy were they in luck, at the time of their wedding Breck was a winter wonderland with a blanket of fresh snow! We even got some lightly falling snow DURING their bride and groom portraits, which made me a very happy lady!
I love this couple’s story, and think it is best heard in Michael’s words: “Alex and I met when I was a chef at a retirement community and she worked the front desk. I thought I had no shot with her. She was beautiful, smart, funny, and had a maturity beyond her years. I was hooked. Every night when I got off, I would sneak over to the concierge desk and we would chat, each conversation lasting a little longer than the previous. Every chance I would get, I would sneak over to her computer and leave her notes on her desktop to make her smile.
As the weeks went by, my interactions with the pretty girl who worked the front desk became the highlight of my day. By June of 2014, I finally got the nerve to ask her out. Much to my surprise, she actually said yes. Through the next couple years, we built a life together and by December of 2017, I finally grew the nerve to ask her to marry me. Again, I was shocked when she said yes…
Being from the swampy south of Louisiana, we always dreamed of being married in the picturesque beauty of Colorado. Having both spent family vacations there in our youth, we couldn’t think of a more beautiful place to express our love to the world. Everything about our venue was perfect; the stunning landscape, the lightly falling snow in all our pictures, and being surrounded by family and friends made our whole trip amazing!”
