About a week and a half ago we got to do a fall first…apple picking! Our next door neighbors were nice enough to invite us to tag along and we are so glad they did! We headed to Ya Ya Orchard with a picnic dinner ready to pick apples! Parker has a few books that talk about apple picking that we had been reading beforehand, so needless to say he was very excited! It actually was harder than I thought it would be, you had to look to find the “right” apples and twist them to see if they were ready to be picked. The kids and adults all had a great time picking as well as soaking in the beautiful and rustic atmosphere of the farm. In addition to the main event, we enjoyed seeing the animals, fresh flowers and devouring some fresh apple cider donuts! This was such a fun night and the perfect way to kick off fall. Now…what to do with all the apples? I have a few recipe ideas…but new ones are welcome so please send them along!
