Today I have a very cute engagement session to share with you featuring an adorable couple! When Jen and I started planning out the shoot, she told me she wanted to take photos in Downtown Denver and that they’d like “a laid back look with some fancy mixed in.” When I suggested some more edgy photos in an urban setting she said, “we’re just not that cool”. Well Jen, I think you were wrong…we ended our shoot with some “fancy” pics in a Downtown alleyway with a polaroid camera as a prop and I could not be more excited about the results! But to back up a little, we started the shoot with some laid back pics Downtown that also reflect the FUN and down to earth side of this couple. Dan and Jen, you two were so fun to spend the day with and some really great models for David and me!
To fill you in on this couple’s history Dan and Jen met on a blind date! One of Jen’s former co-workers set them up. Jen and Shelly had worked together at an elementary school for two years, but Shelly moved on to teach at a different school as a kindergarten teacher and there was Dan, teaching art. Shelly said she knew right away that they would be perfect together and even said to Dan, “I know your future wife”. Dan and Jen went to dinner for their first date and Jen recalls, “At the time, I think we were both just embarrassed…I almost didn’t go. Dan was super late because he got lost (since he was new in town from Ohio) and I thought I was going to get stood up. Good thing I didn’t.” Fast forward to their third date, Dan took Jen to a Broncos game (even though he’s a big Cleveland Browns fan and still doesn’t like the Broncos) and that was when things really started to click. The rest is history!
