On Monday I finally shared our photos from our New York City Vow Renewal for our ten year anniversary. I also wanted to share a few of our own snaps from our trip. Full disclosure, since this was a romantic trip to relax and disconnect we didn’t take a ton of photos and the majority were with our iPhones. But here are a few pretty shots from our time in New York.
When David and I were making the decision of where to go for our ten year anniversary trip it was easy actually. We had always talked about going to NYC together during the holiday season when all the Christmas decorations would be up and do all the cheesy romantic “New York at Christmas time” things. What can I say we’re suckers for that stuff. Not to mention David had still never been to New York and I had only been once in the spring. Plus a vow renewal on the Brooklyn Bridge, perfect. We had the best time just soaking in the city and all the holiday ambiance it has to offer. Truly, all the movies don’t lie…New York at Christmas time is magic. The holiday cheer is infectious…you will be walking down the street and there will be a speaker blaring Christmas music and you can’t help but be happy. We loved strolling through Bryant Park, seeing the decorations at Macy’s, of course seeing the tree in Rockefeller Center and one of my biggest highlights other than our vow renewal was seeing the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall. David and I had seen them once years ago in California, but there is NOTHING like seeing them in NYC. Quite possibly the best Christmas show. We had such nice, mild weather for the beginning of December that being outside was very enjoyable. We loved strolling through Central Park taking photos and yes we did take a horse and carriage ride. Later that same night we even returned to go ice skating. Like I said, suckers for the touristy stuff. Towards the end of our trip, we realized while midtown is fun and exciting, the West Village and Greenwich Village area is really our vibe. We loved poking around discovering cool markets, shops and of course everything about Chelsea Market. It was around this area too that we enjoyed the best three hour authentic Italian dinner of our life thanks to a recommendation from one of our past couples/friends. Seriously this trip was one for the books and we can’t wait to go back!
Awwwwww! You make me want to go back!!
