Happy Thursday everyone! With all the craziness of wedding season I am a little behind on my blogging. Today I am going to share with you an engagement session of a couple whose wedding we actually shot last weekend. Brett and Maya. We shot their engagement photos (and wedding) in Breckenridge, CO as it is a very important and special place to the couple. We started the shoot off with some photos with their adorable dog Clyde and then meandered around the town, capturing all the charm Breck has to offer.
Quickly I want to share with you this couple’s engagement story. Last year over Labor Day Brett and Maya were where else….Breckenridge. They started out the night with a cocktail hour with some friends of Maya’s parents who were giving Brett a hard time because they weren’t married yet and had already been together for 6 years. Brett just smiled…little did they know he had plans for the weekend. The next day Brett and Maya went to Beaver Creek to go to dinner and thought that they would hike around the ski mountain for a bit before dinner. So they took the chair up and hiked over to their favorite run “The Stone Creek Chutes”. They walked around there for a bit and then to Maya’s complete surprise Brett proposed. She was in shock because she had no idea he had even looked at rings or was even considering proposing. She later found out that he had been trying to propose all summer. He had wanted to propose on a 14er hike but he had hurt his foot earlier in the spring so Maya wouldn’t go on the hike with him since she didn’t want him to hurt himself. After the proposal, they rode the lift back and celebrated by enjoying the Oktoberfest celebration in Beaver Creek followed by a fabulous dinner with champagne, oysters and all types of yummy seafood.
Brett and Maya, I am so glad the wedding went off without a hitch last weekend! The rain stayed away for us and everything turned out beautifully! For now, enjoy the engagement photos!
