It was such an honor to shoot this Engagement Shoot a couple weeks back! Jenn was my college roommate and we rode together on the CU Equestrian Team. Her and her fiancĂ© Andy were out visiting us in Colorado from the east coast and it was Andy’s first time to Colorado. So of course we had to expose him to all the Colorado essentials: a walk down Pearl Street, margs at The Rio, a tour of CU’s campus, a hike up Chautauqua, and then the two of them continued up to Estes Park where they went river rafting and horseback riding. Perfect. I am so excited for their Wedding in Massachusetts this Fall, but couldn’t resist their Summer trip out to Colorado as the perfect opportunity for some Engagement pics.
I am so happy these two found each other! A little time spent with the two of them, and it is clear they are perfect for one another. I especially love the story of how they met. I guess for the story to make sense, you need to know Jenn’s mom owns a horse barn and Andy’s family owns a fence company. Well of course a barn with lots of fencing would eventually need to be fixed. Jenn’s mom had been going into the fence store for quite awhile and upon meeting Andy thought he would be perfect for Jenn. She begged Jenn for years to come meet “the guy who could fix the fence”, but she wasn’t sure and kept putting it off. Eventually, to silence her mother, Jenn went to the store to get fence rails. While loading rails into the farm’s truck, Jenn and Andy started talking…little did she know, he already knew everything she was telling him because apparently her mom had been talking her up for years! They went on a first date at the Sherborn Inn. They met on their lunch break and they spent two hours discovering they had much in common. On the way out, Andy asked, “What took you so long to come into the shop?” Stunned, Jenn replied, “It was worth the wait.”
